The gaskets have different kinds, sizes, thicknesses, materials and functions. Now Yuhuan Jinhua Machinery Co., Ltd. will introduce to you the functions and installation precautions of several commonly used gaskets.

Copper skin asbestos pad: Copper skin asbestos pad has the characteristics of high pressure and high temperature resistance. It is used in engine cylinder gaskets. Before using the copper asbestos mat, first of all, clean the dirt or dust on the joint surface. Pay attention to the side of the copper sheet flanging facing the cylinder head to prevent back leakage. Copper-lined asbestos pads should not be folded rigidly during storage and installation. They should be kept intact and elastic enough. If damaged or used for too long without elasticity, it should be replaced in time.

Paper mat: It can be used in two ways. One is to increase the sealing to prevent oil leakage; the other is to adjust the clearance between components. Paper cushion parts can not be increased or decreased at will. For example, the paper cushion between the cover of each side of diesel pump is used to adjust the fuel supply time. The thickness of gasket is 0.1 mm. For every increase or decrease of gasket 0.1 mm, the fuel supply angle of flywheel will be changed by 1.7 degrees accordingly. The axial clearance between the crankshaft bush and the crankshaft is also realized by adjusting the paper pad between the side cover of the flywheel end and the airframe. Paper cushion should be replaced in time if it is damaged to prevent oil leakage.

Flat cushion: Its function is to distribute the pressure of nuts evenly on the pressurized parts through flat cushion, while protecting the surface of bolts, threads and connectors. Generally thin metal shell is fixed with metal flat cushion.

Aluminum cushion: Aluminum cushion has a certain toughness, generally diesel oil, oil pipeline connection can be used. Aluminum cushion should be inspected before installation whether there are any dents or cracks in its plane. Otherwise, air will be sucked into the oil leak pipe, which will not only waste oil, affect the power of the engine, but also cause the failure of burning bushes and holding axles due to insufficient oil supply.

Copper mattress: Copper mattress material is generally copper material, mostly used in high pressure parts, such as the gasket nozzle.

Cork mat: Cork mat has a certain toughness, generally used between water tank, engine oil pan and the body. Soft cork cushion, good sealing performance, reduce vibration, collision and wear of components. The weakness is brittleness and fragility.  When making cork cushion, attention should be paid to drilling before cutting, which is not easy to damage. During installation, the debris on the joint surface will be scraped off and buttered on both sides of the cork pad to improve its sealing performance.  When tightening the bolt, the fixed bolt should be tightened uniformly and forcefully in diagonal order.

Spring pad: Spring pad is used for bolt connection to prevent bolts and nuts from loosening due to vibration. Especially for bolts which are not easy to see or operate, spring pads should be used.

Asbestos pad: Asbestos pad has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, so the parts used are high temperature parts, such as between exhaust pipe and cylinder head, these parts can not be replaced by other gaskets.

Rubber gaskets: Rubber gaskets are made of two kinds of raw materials, one is gaskets made of non-oil-resistant materials for sealing air parts, such as gaskets used on the shell of air filters; the other is gaskets made of oil-resistant materials for sealing oil parts, such as gaskets at both ends of diesel oil filters. It should be noted that the oil-resistant rubber pad can replace the non-oil-resistant rubber pad, while the non-oil-resistant rubber pad can not replace the oil-resistant rubber pad. In the long-term use of rubber pad, if it is found that its hardening loses elasticity, it should be replaced in time to avoid wear and tear of parts.

Felt mat: Felt mat has a certain wear resistance and shock absorption, generally used in the bottom of thin metal box or clamp, such as the bottom of diesel tank.
